I was in Windermere, UK this time last year, having spent a long time travelling from Oxford to Windermere because of weekend railwork. I had to take a bus instead of train but finally arrived at my B&B around 4 PM. I quickly hoped on a double-decker bus to go to Dove Cottage before it closed. Thank God I arrived in time to have a tour of Wordsworth’s home and see the exhibit on “The Rime of the Ancient Marnier” which was very interesting. I took this photo from the open top deck of the bus–can you imagine Wordsworth and Dorothy having a nice stroll along the river? I would have loved to do some hiking while I was there. Perhaps I should visit the Lake District again in July!

Hope you’ll have a fantastic trip with more pictures to show! I never made it to the Lake District though I did spend a sunny day at Cambridge doing all the tourist stuff. Love the bridges.
